In 2013 I have gained a Magister Artium in special education from the Julius Maximilius University of Würzburg. The realization of the importance of the body as a bridge for different kind of people lead me to enroll in an “in service” study program parallel to my studies in “therapeutic dance pedagogy”. I combined those two with a research that lead to my final thesis with the subject “Creative dance as a tool for sculpturing the identity of people with mental disabilities”.
Wanting to know more about my body I have continued my studies on contemporary dance at the program “Tanzintensiv” of the school “Tanzfabrik” in Berlin as well as later in the University of arts of Berlin in the postgraduate program “Creating dance in arts and education.” I am also a certified Danceabilty teacher and Switch2move teacher (dance for Parkinson’s and Multiple sclerosis).
I have been working for two years as a dance pedagogue and community- dance project facilitator in Berlin until 2017 that i have moved back to Cyprus. Currently I am teaching dance in three different institutions for people with various disabilities as well as other dance classes like toddlers dance, contact improvisation and inclusive dance. In 2019, I was an artist resident in the program “Moving the New” of Dance house Limassol which was concluded with the Showing of the research project “Breaking News”. The same year I have also participated as a dancer in the two pieces “Space invaders” and “Cold shiny screens” of Suzana Phiala as well as at the piece “Fountains of Mojitos” of Evie Demetriou.
